So TacStrike posted a link to a post by Rob Tackett on their Facebook page, essentially calling for civility.
I respectfully disagree.
First off, I’m disgusted by the use of the stupid and grammatically awful ‘hate speech’ moniker.
The Facebook poster who shared this article called it an amazing article.
It isn’t amazing to me at all. Just naive. The posts he cited that he deleted; sure, it made sense to delete those. However, he fails to note the chilling fact that Rob Allen notes: The antis are more coordinated than ever. There’s also this little tidbit discussing the Alinskyite tactics the left is using, now, as we quibble about civility. Don’t forget to read the good news in the Kurt Schlichter op-ed referenced in that article regarding the fact that the left is loosing the narrative and they are in a panic. We can only hope that that is true.
Rob at TacStrike, I’m sure, is well meaning. In the article he lists the five points below. My response in bold.
We the People have to be better informed of the facts.
They don’t care.
We the People have to be patient and calm when addressing those that don’t understand our position.
They don’t care.
We the People have to present ourselves as a knowledgeable, insightful and morally just.
They don’t care.
We the People must not fall to the level of name calling, harmful rhetoric and hate speech.
They don’t care.
We the People must not give up and believe that taking up arms against our fellow man is the answer.
They don’t care.
The left is desperate and will stop at nothing. They know this is their last stand and they don’t care what we have to say. They will ram through whatever ban they’ve had wet dreams about for decades, including forcing owners of most semi-auto rifles to register them as if they are NFA weapons, or outright confiscation. If they can’t get it through the legislature, they will attempt it any way they can. I, for one, will pull no punches. Let’s do what Joe Huffman suggests and make sure this is their last stand.
Alinsky tactics are truly subversive, but if we are going to win this and really make this their last stand, I, for one, am convinced that using Alinsky against the Alinskyites is a necessary part of the battle. Not for everybody, sure, but I’m tired of seeing these calls for civility when the left gives us no such quarter. I’m not suggesting incivility for the sake of incivility, but publishing the reporters’ addresses was a perfect response to their disgusting display, demonizing gun owners ala Alinsky.

Update: And this is classic turnabout-is-fair-play.
There are several issues that have created our current cultural situation (culture of violence, break-down of family, lack of personal responsibility, and yes, guns) and there will need to be several approaches needed address them individually. It’s when both sides take up extreme positions and dig their heels in that we make no progress.
I am a legal gun owner who submitted to background checks, completed the appropriate training, and take gun ownership seriously. As law-abiding citizens we are expected to navigate the labyrinth of conflicting state laws regarding firearms and we do successfully everyday. Although many of these laws are conflicting between neighboring states, we still respect them and abide by them everyday. Let’s make it easy for everyone (including David Gregory) and develop a basic framework across the United States.
With 300 million firearms in private hands (one-third of them pistols), the overwhelming majority of gun owners ARE responsible, law-abiding citizens, which is why these horrific massacres are not commonplace, but rather horrific outliers that can never be legislated away (e.g. DC, Chicago, and “Gun Free Zones”).

I am not interested in “making progress.” That is the language of the Progressives. Whenever someone uses that word, I hammer away at this point: progress *from* what *to* what?
The only progress I am interested in is the systematic repeal of every single gun law on the books across this land, save one, the one that restricts the government from infringing on the right to keep and bear arms.
I make no apologies for that extremism. For I hold to the truth uttered by Barry Goldwater: “Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice, and moderation in pursuit of justice is no virtue.”

“Successfully every day”? Are you serious? Check out the headlines some day and you’ll see peaceable gun owners getting nabbed every day due to these inconsistent, unconstitutional, and immoral “laws”. Abide by them? Where called for. Respect them? Not a flippin’ chance. No way in *hell* do I want to make it easy for David Gregory. I advocate for prosecuting his elitist, hypocritical ass to the fullest extent of the law.
No compromise. I give no quarter to those who advocate for the next Holocaust, by way of first disarming the populace. They deserve only one thing. And that is to be absolutely crushed, politically.
Because civility has worked so well for us…
