Alinksy on the Left; Alinsky on the Right

So TacStrike posted a link to a post by Rob Tackett on their Facebook page, essentially calling for civility.

I respectfully disagree.

First off, I’m disgusted by the use of the stupid and grammatically awful ‘hate speech’ moniker.

The Facebook poster who shared this article called it an amazing article.

It isn’t amazing to me at all. Just naive. The posts he cited that he deleted; sure, it made sense to delete those. However, he fails to note the chilling fact that Rob Allen notes: The antis are more coordinated than ever. There’s also this little tidbit discussing the Alinskyite tactics the left is using, now, as we quibble about civility. Don’t forget to read the good news in the Kurt Schlichter op-ed referenced in that article regarding the fact that the left is loosing the narrative and they are in a panic. We can only hope that that is true.

Rob at TacStrike, I’m sure, is well meaning. In the article he lists the five points below. My response in bold.

We the People have to be better informed of the facts.

They don’t care.

We the People have to be patient and calm when addressing those that don’t understand our position.

They don’t care.

We the People have to present ourselves as a knowledgeable, insightful and morally just.

They don’t care.

We the People must not fall to the level of name calling, harmful rhetoric and hate speech.

They don’t care.

We the People must not give up and believe that taking up arms against our fellow man is the answer.

They don’t care.

The left is desperate and will stop at nothing. They know this is their last stand and they don’t care what we have to say. They will ram through whatever ban they’ve had wet dreams about for decades, including forcing owners of most semi-auto rifles to register them as if they are NFA weapons, or outright confiscation. If they can’t get it through the legislature, they will attempt it any way they can. I, for one, will pull no punches. Let’s do what Joe Huffman suggests and make sure this is their last stand.

Alinsky tactics are truly subversive, but if we are going to win this and really make this their last stand, I, for one, am convinced that using Alinsky against the Alinskyites is a necessary part of the battle. Not for everybody, sure, but I’m tired of seeing these calls for civility when the left gives us no such quarter. I’m not suggesting incivility for the sake of incivility, but publishing the reporters’ addresses was a perfect response to their disgusting display, demonizing gun owners ala Alinsky.

Update: And this is classic turnabout-is-fair-play.

A Time for Mourning or a Time for Politics?

Like some others, I will not name the monster who apparently killed at least 27, including at least 20 children ages 5-10 at a Connecticut school.

However, unlike others, I will not simply quietly pray in the corner while the podium is ceded to another kind of monster: the gun people control advocate.

I’ve already engaged in two battles with these cretins on Facebook.  Here is a slightly modified summary that I posted to my own timeline after the other two threads calmed down a bit:

This was shared by [my] nephew, […] and it generated quite few comments (over 40), like the original from Guns Save Lives (over 60).

To those who think we should shut up and not talk about the politics of guns so quickly after a mass shooting, consider this: take your complaints to the gun grabbers. Almost invariably, it is *they* who call for more gun control after every single mass shooting. It is *they* who dance in the blood of the victims before it even hits the ground.

Here’s one comment I posted on my nephew’s post: “‘course, it’s always the antis that dive right in. My nephew, like me […], is *always* posting pro-gun stuff and statements like this. He said nothing about the shooting in CT. It wasn’t until a gun grabber dove in that the ‘gun control’ debate started wrt. the mass shootings. The antis want to dive in and dance in the blood before it’s dry on the pavement/linoleum and then those in favor of freedom are expected to STFU and bow our heads and respect the dead and their families. Well, what better way to respect them than to honor them by getting in the face of those who would use their deaths to further and agenda that would guarantee more massacres and do it *while they are still dancing in the blood of the victims*?”

And earlier, I posted this: “To paraprhase the late Heath Ledger’s character Gabriel Martin in “The Patriot”, Yes, pray for the victims. But honor them by taking a stand against laws that invite these tragedies to be worse than they have to be. See “Gun Free Zones” laws for what they are (Victim Disarmament Zones) and repeal them all.”I will not keep quiet about the failure and evil of gun control even so soon after a massacre. The gun grabbers don’t, so shutting up simply cedes the podium to them. I honor the victims and their families by fighting for the Israeli solution to this problem:http://www.cbn.com/CBNnews/310078.aspxCompare: http://www.courant.com/sns-rt-us-china-stabbingsbre8bd065-20121213,0,5592318.story

In the first article, a couple of animals  — no, that’s an insult to household pets everywhere — amoeba-brained dirtbags try to shoot up and cut up some students.  They manage to kill one and injure six before a couple of armed school counselors put the excrement down.  With guns, of course.  Contrary to what you might have been told, they do do some good.
In the second one, 23 people are killed injured [Correction: injured, not killed — sorry] before the scumbag is arrested.  What did he use? A gun?  Nope.  A knife.  And the article mentions another attack two years ago where 31 people were killed injured [Correction: ibid].  With a knife.
One gun grabber I was sparring with on Facebook who says he doesn’t want to ban guns says, “All I’m saying is maybe I shouldn’t be allowed to walk into a Wal-Mart or a pawn shop and walk out with a shotgun just because I have the money to buy it.”
So I replied, “”..just because I have the money to buy it.” — except that, you can’t. So what’s the law, again?”
Can you guess what the response was?
Well, I can’t, either, because he never responded.
So later, after I posted links to those two articles above, he says, “Yeah, every other pro gun person has been posting those links all day like any of those situations have to do with this one”
My response, “Like walking into a Walmart or pawn shop with nothing but the cash has anything to do with this, either. So what’s the law, again?”
Him: “The shooter’s mom was killed with her own gun. Let’s discuss that.”
Me: “I’m game. So, what are the details.”
So I ask again, and he changes the subject.  I entertain him, anyhow, and he goes away.  Granted, he might have just gone to bed or signed off Facebook.  I doubt the latter, since he’s posted from his mobile phone a few times, and if it’s like most mobile phone FB apps, it does tell you when someone’s replied to your posts.
These monsters need to be squashed like bugs, humiliated, dragged through the mud, in the midst of their dishonoring of the dead.  Don’t like us responding to them and working on destroying them politically, even in the midst of mourning?  Tough.  Bring your complaints to the monsters.  Not us.  They are looking for every opportunity to soak us in the fresh blood of victims.
I will not let them define us.
So my answer to the title of this post is, quite simply, both.

Clarification: Alan Korwin Disavows Letter Claiming His Authorship

Followup on this post: Since others have pointed this out, I wanted to be clear that Alan Korwin has disavowed that letter circulating claiming to be written by him.  It has some content he wrote back in 2008 when it was actually true (HR1022 I believe), but is surrounded by some inflammatory language that he did not write.

A pox on the dweeb who falsified this.

No matter, though, at least in my case.  The guts of my post is still true.  The concern is less the legislature than the administrative rule making.

Not Gone, Just on a Hiatus

Much of what I was going to post about the 2012 Gun Rights Policy Conference is now irrelevant, so I’m not going to do a megapost like I was going to, now. Though I may make references to it in some future posts.

After the complete non-surprise of November 6, I am not re-evaluating anything. I am only re-thinking my timetable. I hope you all are, too.

Almost there

Okay, I think I have everything working in terms of content.  Links to old posts seem to redirect to new site correctly, top level site name redirects correctly, and I’ve updated my RSS feed url on the old blogger site so that no one (all 8 of you!) will have to update their readers.

Now to tweak away to make it look more to my liking.  But functionally, I think everything looks good.

Migration

Sorry for the lack of posting, but I’m in the middle of migrating to WordPress, joining the mass exodus from “Do No Evil” Google to escape the evil that they do. Or at least may do given the political activism of at least one of its founders.

I’ll have some posts on GRPC and a new Open Carry Chronicles post up after the transition.

Project “Assaulted” — PLEASE Pick Up the Pace

I just did a little math on the Kickstarter contributions to the Assaulted project mentioned in my previous post and though the trend is headed in the right direction, we need to pick up the pace.

From September 5 – September 15 (yesterday), the total contributions were about $11,600 or about 1,160 per day. Between yesterday and today, the contribution total went from 11,600 to 13,000, or a about a 1,400 jump in one day. Nice to see a jump, however, in order to meet the goal of 65,000, the average daily contribution needs to about double to 2,800 per day.

Please, if you, like me, think this is a worthy project contribute what you can and, more importantly, spread this wide and far.

A Project Worthy of Gun Owners’ Support

David puts out the call to support another Kickstarter supported project on the attack on gun rights originating in California and threatening to spread through the rest of the country.

A previous project to make a film documenting the Fast and Furious fiasco had a rather high dollar goal, higher than any I’ve seen on Kickstarter and never met the goal. Still, it was a shame to see how few supported the project.

Here’s our chance, again. This time, if the goal isn’t achieved, then I don’t have much hope for the future of freedom in this country. Please, lend what support you can.

And spread the word, too.
